this hefty future totters on wet cement plans and paper-thin hopes and they tell me it'll all work out. But this is new to me--this running around letting tomorrow catch up with today and letting the mornings fall into my lap; i am accustomed to reaching out and grabbing them violently, secure and inescapably, and this is too much, too much too soon.

in a perfect world i would chase these flighty frenetic dreams of mine--those things i fancy wouldn't be of consequence tomorrow.

the edge is far too close for comfort.
